About The Event

Underground Atlanta is thrilled to announce Confetti Gardens, Atlanta’s first immersive underground garden art installation featuring large-scale paintings and sculptures by Atlanta-based artist David Muehlenkamp.

Muehlenkamp’s life work lives somewhere at the intersection of art, music, and activism. Over the past 10 years he has lived in Nigeria as a tour DJ for some of Africa’s biggest stars, worked on a presidential campaign, and resided as West Elm’s featured Artist of the Month.

Recurring themes throughout Muehlenkamp’s work are environmental justice, American and African culture, and uplifting women’s voices. He has hosted solo art shows in New York, DC, and Atlanta, and played to sold out clubs and arenas in Nigeria, South Africa, London, and New York.

Underground Atlanta, "The City Beneath the Streets" is a historic arts and entertainment district in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. Located at the birthplace of Atlanta and anchored by the Zero-mile Post, Underground was known to many as a cornerstone for music and art in the 1960s, a rallying point for the 1996 Olympics, and an iconic staple during the

annual "Peach Drop" New Years celebrations.

Its 2021 revival brought a resurgence of activations to the arts and entertainment district, such as The Art of Banksy Exhibit, Atlanta Fashion Week, ATL’s 50 Years of Hip-Hop Celebration, and over 1000 dynamic events each year. The reimagining of this 12-acre property includes unique tenants that help creative industries thrive like The Masquerade, MJQ Concourse, Fulton County Public Art Futures Lab, and 3 art galleries on Underground Atlanta's "Artist Row." Featuring restaurants Dolo's Pizza, Daiquiriville, and Utopia, Underground Atlanta offers an accessible and central hub

for the Downtown community.

Coming in the fall of 2025 is a 180,000 sq ft event center, ready for concerts, conferences, and more. Make history with us in the City Beneath the Streets!
